The war in Yemen is being labelled as one of the greatest humanitarian crisis. The war is having a devastating effect, causing widespread food shortages. Lack of access to safe drinking water and sanitation resulting in widespread diseases like a deadly cholera outbreak. Medicines and medical supplies are extremely scarce, depriving those affected of much needed medical attention.

The aid that should be reaching our brothers and sisters has been prevented from reaching them in many instances in the past, leaving them in a more dire situation.

Last Ramadhan after numerous attempts we managed to distribute basic food items via another charity. Alhamdulillah after a year long struggle and knocking on many doors. Allah has opened the door to Yemen for GiftingHumanity and all its donors. With the help of Allahsubhanahu wa ta'ala, we will inshaAllah be entering Yemen and personally distibuting the much needed food, water and medical supplies to tackle the cholera outbreak. We humbly request all brothers and sisters to donate their zakat, sadaqah and lillah to this noble cause. With the blessed month of Ramadhan fastly approaching, we implore everyone to help those affected by remembering them in your duas and aiding them financially.

South Africa is the most unequal country in the world and its poverty is the “enduring legacy of apartheid”, says World Bank

South Africa is the most unequal country in the world and its poverty is the “enduring legacy of apartheid”, according to a report by the World Bank.

Inequality in the country has increased since the end of the apartheid with black South Africans at the highest risk of poverty, the report found.

It added that it was the most unequal of the 149 countries which the World Bank analysed using the Gini Index, an economic tool which looks at consumption and expenditure to measure inequality.

Homelessness is when people are without a permanent accomodation. People who are homeless are most often unable to acquire and maintain regular, safe, secure and adequate housing, some people are homeless due unforseen circumstances are only trying to get back on their feet. Given the right support they can move forward with their lives.

While people are homeless they tend to sleep rough on the streets and in any season, putting them at great risk from illness and many other issues. Everyone deserves to be accomodated with atleast food and warm, clothing, the basic needs of life. Our Volunteers at Gifting Humanity raise money through your donations to help the homeless by providing food, and warm clothing specially during the cold months, these small essentials make a huge difference for the homeless. Please help us to help the homless in our town of Leicester by donating

Have you thought about how it would feel to drink or shower with dirty water?, globally there are somany countries where having access to clean water is a privilege and in more countries having clean water is just part of normal life. Our volunteers at Gifting Humanity collect through your donations to provide clean accessible water in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh using Water Pumps, this would allow those individuals to access water close to them rather than having to walk for miles just for a gallon of water.

Every Penny Counts, whatever you contribute can make a huge difference in the lives of somany, our aim to expand our ongoing Water Pumps projects to further countries making have access to clean water a norm.

Please donate to this cause, your donations no matter how big or small can make a huge difference.

The geography of inequality
* London is the most unequal part of the UK
* One in four poor children live in the 10% most deprived local authorities.
* Average (median) income in the highest-income region in Britain (the South East) is 25% higher than in the lowest-income region (West Midlands)

Regional differences
* Average incomes in the south of England (excluding London) and Scotland have grown faster than in Britain as a whole over the last 40 years
* The Midlands have fared worst in terms of income growth over the last 40 years

The national picture
* Average (median) income in 2015–16 (the latest data available) was only 3.7% higher than before the recession (2007–08)
* Evidence from data on employees’ earnings shows that those towards the very top (99th percentile) have been harder hit than those at the middle (median)
* Absolute poverty (according to the official government measure) has changed little over the last decade
* Average incomes and poverty rates miss the fact that different households can experience dramatically varying changes in income
* Between 2010–2011 and 2014–2015, 37% of people experienced a fall in their household income of more than 5%, and 50% saw a rise of more than 5%.
* Low income is more likely to be persistent (i.e. to last for multiple years) for pensioners, lone parents, and those with more than three children
* Persistently low parental earnings and persistent parental worklessness are both important in explaining persistent child poverty
